The Portland Suite

A series of Gocco prints started in mid 2007; two have been completed so far. This series celebrates the quirkier and less well-known aspects of Portland, Oregon, a city of surprises.

Ever notice the little toy horses hitched up to the metal rings embedded in the sidewalks? Or Trixie the Poetry Car, a light blue car covered in poetry magnets, zooming around town? These are the things that make Portland wonderful and make me happy to live here. There is at least one more print coming, inspired by the world's smallest public park here in Portland.

With these prints, I am using the Print Gocco in many experimental and alternative methods. Using open screens, self-adhesive stencils, and screens that have been brushed with PVA to create a desired texture, these two printed have been created with a combined total of 3 screens.
