A Visual Dialog Between Two Artists

Shelley Hershberger and I started a visual dialog in early 2009. The format was loosely defined—the only constraint was that the height + width of the finished piece must not exceed 24”.

Working individually and without further conversations about our work, we each completed our first pieces. We met and discussed our work, and then returned to our own studios to respond to the other, again working individually and separately.

The process has continued in the same vein and we're committed to 12 such exchanges. We anticipate completing our project in 2010.
