The current issue of PuddingThe current issue of Pudding, issue #23, compares the Print Gocco B6 HiMesh screen with StencilPro HiRes screen. Read more about this issue below. Pudding will cease publication after 1 more issueI plan to stop publishing Pudding when I complete issue 24. We're currently at issue 23 right now, so there will be 1 more issue. Yes, I am very behind! My apologies. I am no longer accepting new subscribers at this point. Individual issues are available as listed below. Subscribers who have already renewed past the end of 2007 will start receiving a new publication in 2008. The new publication is yet unnamed, but it will follow the traditional artist's book subscription format. Unlike Pudding, where each issue is a test and goes out warts and all, the new publication will be finished artworks. Details to come. Save GoccoFor information about Print Gocco being discontinued, please see www.savegocco.com. Pudding InformationPudding is the Print Gocco proof magazine. Published 4 times a year, roughly every 3 months, Pudding tries a variety of methods, tools, and paper surfaces when printing with the Print Gocco. Occasionally a month is skipped, but with a subscription you will always receive the correct number of issues, but over a longer period of time. Included in each issue is Pudding Notes, the technical information and evaluation of the print; a short note of readers' suggestions and responses, if any, is also included. Also eventually, there will be a portfolio for storage, and an index. There are several issues that are out of print, the Technical Notes for these issues are now available as PDF files to download. Look for them next to the descriptions for each out of print issue. To see detailed descriptions of the current and back issues, scroll beyond the subscription information. (The images to the left are details from The Rite of Spring, a 4-color process print, and Nigrum, an artist's book. To see more examples of gocco printed work, go to Prints & Artist's Books page.) Winter/Jan 2007, issue 21: Alternative inks, paints, and pigments. Fall/Oct 2006, issue 20: Which Riso Gocco Inks Contain Carbon? A few weeks back, I put a new design on a screen that had previously been used but still had enough space left for my new design. I flashed it, and imagine my surprise when I discovered that the green ink stain that was there from before had flashed through, rending both my old and new designs unusable. This issue tests which of the darker gocco inks will flash through.

March 2005, issue 13: An example of CMYK printing. Several people have expressed interest in seeing an example of a CMYK print, so here is one that shows the 4 states -- cyan, cyan + magenta, cyan + magenta + yellow, and cyan + magenta + yellow + black. Top: shown are different pages of this issue. Bottom: the original image used; it is a detail from one of my paintings. Out of PrintTechnical data will be available on-line soon.
![]() | Jan 2005, issue 12: Compares the results of prints made with the help of Fun Foam and without. Fun Foam is a thin, spongey material available at craft stores, and several experienced printers have said it helps them achieve a more even print. In this issue, I reprint test strips created for the Nov/04 (No. 11) issue, but this time, with a piece of Fun Foam inserted behind the plexi glass. I also print the cover page twice, once with and once without Fun Foam, so you can do side by side comparisons. This is a good companion issue to the Nov/04 (No. 11) issue. Out of PrintTechnical data will be available on-line soon.
