Classes 2008

Gocco Quickie: Thursday, June 26, 2008, 8-9pm

Class is held at my studio in SW Portland, Oregon; limited to 5 students.

The Print Gocco is a simple to use printing device that is a cross between a silkscreen and a stamp. Although it's been around for about 30 years, it has become hugely popular here in the US in the past few years.

As the class title suggests, this is a quick lesson on how to use the Print Gocco. You will learn how to expose a Gocco screen and pull a few prints.

Tuition: $15
Materials fees: $8

Recommended for adults and children 8 years and older. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Instructor supplies all materials and Goccos.

Advanced Gocco & Beyond: Sat & Sun, June 28-29, 2008, 10am-4pm

Class is held at my studio in SW Portland, Oregon; limited to 5 students.

With the recent announcement that Print Gocco will no longer be produced, and supplies will be available for another few years, it's time to investigate what else we can do with Print Gocco beyond the traditional form of Gocco printing.

This class will cover the following topics:

  • Reusing old Gocco screens. There are several ways to 'recycle and reuse' spent Gocco screens. We will explore several methods.
  • Registration. How to achieve tight registration using multiple screens to create prints of complex imagery.
  • Try StencilPro HiRez, an UV sensitive material that can be exposed and mounted on a Gocco frame. Compare how StencilPro HiRez performs against that of the Gocco screen, and learn ways to use both to best achieve your goals.

Recommended for adults with some basic Print Gocco experience. See Gocco Quickie, above, or see IPRC for their Print Gocco Basics class.

Tuition: $180
Materials fee: $40

Students should bring 2 previously used (and cleaned) gocco screens to class. Instructor will supply all other materials necessary.

To register for this class, a $40 deposit is due by June 25th, with the remainder due on 1st day of class. The $40 deposit is non-refundable. You may use the PayPal button below, or if you prefer to pay by check, or just have questions, email me at .
